Explanation of Random Number Generator

The easy pick numbers are produced by our online gaming system service provider’s Random Number Generator. Their Random Number Generator has been fully tested and is certified by Gaming Laboratories Incorporated located in Toms River, New Jersey. Gaming Laboratories Incorporated is a gaming auditing firm that tests the randomness of gaming devices. They test the randomness of the Random Number Generator in four areas:

1. Chi-Squared, which compares the actual number of occurrences of each value to the expected number. Expected values for each sample are obtained by running a pre-determined series of plays. The chi-square is run for all number positions.

2. Runs Test, which determines the median of the data collected on the first number position, as well as the subsequent 9, 5 or 4. The number of RUNS above and below the median are calculated by looking at the data in the first number position. The Z-score is determined from the difference between the expected and the observed length of the run, divided by the standard deviation. Z-scores are converted to the confidence level score and plotted.

3. Correlation Test - Interplay, which determines the correlation between the first number drawn and the second, 1st and 3rd....The correlation values are collected and plotted in form of Z-scores.

4. Correlation Test - Serial, which allows them to determine the relationship between the occurences of one draw position on the nth play versus the N-1th play. these are computed for each position.

Gaming Laboratories Incorporated has provided the Vermont Lottery with a detailed report testing these four areas. Their final evaluation of the Random Numbers Generator is that it meets all necessary provisions and that it performed well and passed in all four areas.
